We are pleased to announce that Bürkle has joined the UN Global Compact (UNGC). This commitment marks a significant step in our commitment to sustainability and social responsibility.
What is the UN Global Compact?
The UN Global Compact is a voluntary initiative that encourages companies and organisations around the world to adopt sustainable and socially responsible business practices. The initiative was launched by the United Nations in 2000 and is based on ten universal principles in the areas of human rights, labour standards, environmental protection and anti-corruption.

The Ten Principles of the UN Global Compact
The Ten Principles of the UN Global Compact are
Human Rights:
1. businesses should support and respect the protection of internationally proclaimed human rights within their sphere of influence.
2. companies should ensure that they are not complicit in human rights abuses.
Labour standards:
3. businesses should uphold the freedom of association and the effective recognition of the right to collective bargaining.
4 Businesses should uphold the elimination of all forms of forced and compulsory labour.
5 Businesses should uphold the elimination of child labour.
6 Businesses should uphold the elimination of discrimination in respect of employment and occupation.
Environmental protection:
7 Businesses should support a precautionary approach to environmental challenges.
8. companies should take initiatives to promote greater environmental awareness.
9. companies should promote the development and diffusion of environmentally friendly technologies.
Anti-corruption:
10. businesses should work against corruption in all its forms, including extortion and bribery.

Why we have decided in favour of the UN Global Compact
Our decision to join the UN Global Compact is an expression of our firm belief in the importance of sustainability and social responsibility in business. By adhering to the Ten Principles of the UNGC, we not only aim to demonstrate our commitment to ethical behaviour, but also to have a positive impact on our community and the environment.
Participating in this global initiative gives us the opportunity to learn from a worldwide network of companies and organisations and share best practices. In addition, the UN Global Compact enables us to transparently communicate our progress in the areas of human rights, labour standards, environmental protection and anti-corruption.
